Kelsey Macomber unearthed her passion for teaching movement while completing her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Neuroscience at UW-Madison. She initially became certified to teach yoga, then added Pilates, Barre, TRX, and Functional Strength training credentials during her first few years of teaching part-time. Kelsey began teaching movement full-time in 2017 and has found incredible joy and fulfillment in the work ever since.
Kelsey completed her Pilates Teaching certificate through the UW-Madison Dance Department in 2015, which enabled her to better understand diverse and functional movement practices more deeply than ever before. Through years of practice, training, and teaching others, Kelsey believes in the integrity of The Pilates Method to provide a strong conceptual framework and physical foundation for all bodies.
Kelsey teaches with emphasis on mindful awareness, and physical precision. She blends the Classical Pilates Method with contemporary ideas, and an integrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology to help students find engagement and connection. In addition to teaching at UW-Madison, Kelsey teaches private sessions and group classes at Spring – Pilates For Life in Madison. She is also currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Applied Exercise Science (May 2025), and PhD in Exercise Psychology, through the UW-Madison Kinesiology Department.
